Youth Leadership Visits Sheriff's Station

On December 7th, the Youth Congress Leadership Program participants visited the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station on Agoura Road. Deputy DeSantis and Deputy Rule reminded us of the consequences of drug use and reckless driving by detailing recent tragedies that resulted for many teens. They went on to describe the county and state jails where inmates are confined to very small, shared spaces, solidifying our resolve to act responsibly. We then had a question-and-answer session where we learned how curfew rules are enforced and that our parents are obligated to provide only house, food, and clothes. Overall, the visit reminded us why it is important to make wise decisions and furthered our appreciation of the personnel’s efforts at the Sheriff Station.
