Our heart felt sympathy to Future Foundation Trustee and Las Virgenes Unified School District Board President, David Moorman and his family on the tragic loss of their daughter, Alanna.

LVUSD Superintendent, Dr. Zimring provided the following details of the memorial services for Alanna Moorman:

Friends of the Moorman Family,

Memorial services for Alanna Moorman will be held at the King Gillette Ranch (http://www.lamountains.com/parks.asp?parkid=670), on Friday, July 17 at 6:00 p.m. Due to local laws and preservation of the Santa Monica Mountains, the Conservancy has asked that we not bring food to the service and wanted us to know that dogs are not allowed at the ranch.

Also, because of the warm weather and ranch terrain, the family has asked that you wear casual attire and wear flat shoes to the service. Since it will be hot, we advise you to bring water.

Directions to the King Gillette Ranch: Take Hwy 101 (Ventura Freeway) to the Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon exit. Head south on Las Virgenes Road and continue to Mulholland Hwy, about two miles. Turn left onto Mulholland Highway and immediately look for the King Gillette Ranch entrance on the right. Follow the signs for the Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Alanna's memory to one of the following charities:

1. The Valentino Achak Deng Foundation (http://www.valentinoachakdeng.org)
2. Local schools and libraries
3. Charity of your choice

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Moorman family at this difficult time.

Donald M. Zimring, Ph.D.
Superintendent
